A Day in the life of a Front Office Supervisor:
As a Front Office Supervisor I am responsible for the safety and security of all Guests and talents, the smooth running of the hotel at night when senior management are not on duty: to act in the General Manager s interest and as his/her representative in their absence, achieving maximum sales and guest satisfaction. Ensuring the high standards are achieved and providing maximum returns for Starwood Hotels and Resorts; assisting the Welcome Office Manager (Front Office Manager) in meeting all the departments goals and objectives. I should have a good understanding of the other departments within the hotel to ensure a smooth running in all areas throughout the day.
I report directly into the Welcome Office Manager and I work alongside of 4 other Front Office Supervisors. We rotate the different type of shifts between us, this also includes Night Shifts.
During my shifts I am responsible to manage the Welcome Desk Agents: both the Welcome Desk and Whatever/Whenever (Switchboard) are often the first point of contact for guests, we need to be extremely knowledgeable of the hotel, the facilities and the area. Following brand standards at all times is key!
I will be directly responsible for 3-4 talents within the team and conduct regular job chats and appraisals for them, set individual goals and ensure that these are met.
Communication with other departments is very important to ensure an efficient operation. I often
need to multitask and should be able to remain calm in sometimes busy situations. As a Front Office Supervisor we have to manage difficult situations; I should be confident in dealing with those and be supportive to the team at the same time.
We are the drivers for our loyalty program, SPG. Enrolment goals need to be met and daily tracking of the results helps us analyze our performance. The Welcome Desk Managers are also responsible to drive the Welcome Office team to reach the upselling target.
The Front Office Supervisor team responds to guest feedback and ensures that it is communicated to the relevant departments. One of the tools is GEI (Guest Experience Index) which is the system that manages the online surveys guests complete after staying with us.
I should have a good understanding of the other departments within the hotel to ensure a smooth running in all areas throughout the day.

MBO / HBO Degree (Preferably in Hotel Management)
Minimum of two-year experience in the same or similar role as Front Office Supervisor
Fluency in English & Dutch
Experience in the Hotel Industry as Receptionist and Supervisor is must
Experience in Luxury Segment is an advantage
