Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Conference & Banqueting Departments for an Conference & Banqueting Supervisor to join our team! The role is a full time position of 40 hours over 5 days a week. The salary range is 8 per hour.

To successfully fill this role, you will ideally possess and demonstrate the following qualifications, behaviours, skills and values:

Education or Certification

  • Good level of English essential
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Upon receipt of the weekly function sheets to co-plan the weekly business in relation to

staff rotas, booking casual staff for all outlets and equipment required.

  1. To assist in the above in accordance with the financial restraint as to payroll and produce costs.

  2. Liaise with function organizers so that all details are correct.

  3. For both, food & beverage service functions ensure that a comprehensive brief is given to all staff.

  4. To ensure that all food & beverage, room set -ups and equipment meet the required standard of presentation, quality and quantity before service.

  5. To ensure that all fixtures and fittings as well as equipment are cleaned and maintained in accordance with the operating procedures and Marriott Visual Presentations procedures.

  6. To liaise with all other associates in the hotel to ensure that a maximum use is made of all resources.

  7. To deal with any customers complaints and to refer any outside their area of responsibility to the Conference & banqueting Manager or Duty Manager.

  8. In conjunction with the Conference & Banqueting Manager, prepare an annual training plan.

  9. To carry out daily standup meeting sessions with all associates of the department to required company standards.

  10. To ensure that all stock, monitoring systems and controls as well as billing for all functions are carried out promptly to avoid any loss of revenue.

  11. To ensure that you and all staff are aware of all company rules and regulations as outlined in the associate handbook. Particular attention should be made to the sections on health & safety at work, fire instructions and regulations covering the correct handling of departmental keys and also lost property.

  12. Carry out weekly inspections of meeting rooms to ensure standards are upheld to food & beverage, health & hygiene standards.

  13. To carry out any reasonable requests given by the Conference & Banqueting Manager or other members of the management team.

  14. To encourage all aspects of Conference occasion.

  15. To measure & encourage Conference & Banqueting associate progress with goals & targets.

  16. To hold monthly Conference & Banqueting meetings to ascertain progress & future goals.

  17. To carry out regular recognizing performance meetings with all associates.

22.To ensure that all monies are held in a proper manner, recorded and locked away in accordance with company standards.
