Job summary

The Director of Engineering (DEO) will report directly to the property General Manager and will be an integral member of the property executive committee. As a DEO, you are responsible and accountable for manage all aspects of maintenance staff on a daily basis. Directing, coordinating and performing routine, preventive and emergency interior/ exterior maintenance and repairs to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of hotel operations. Working with considerable independence, you are also responsible for cooperating with contractors to coordinate renovations, remodeling projects and new construction. Moreover responsible for managing maintenance workers and participating in hiring, training and mentoring staff, budgeting material and labor expenses and submitting these assessments to the hotel manager.

Candidate profile

  • minimum 3 years experience at Director of Engineering or Maintenance Manager level, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment

  • technical education or bachelor in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related major

  • experience in Project and Capex management and advanced knowledge of building management/engineering

  • strong leadership skills and previous experience of managing a team

  • good communication skills and committed to delivering a high level of service

  • excellent grooming standards

  • advanced level, with computers and relevant computer programs

  • fluency in English is a must.
